UNIT 1: Needs Assessment

Needs Assessment I found the following needs assessment online and figured it would be useful for the first day of class in a group setting or one-on-one when completing intake for a program. I would use this assessment at the beginning of class to get to know what my learners’ needs are in regards to learning English as a second language.   This assessment would be used for a low -intermediate level class. (CLB 4) Working as a group, the assessment can be projected on to the whiteboard (or wall) and all learners can fill out the assessment in private while instructor goes through each question.    The instructor can assess the students while they are filling out the information. If assessing one-on-one, the instructor can work through the assessment with the learner, learner would have to fill out information for instructor to identify writing strengths and weaknesses.
